Breast Cancer Awareness Month in San Marcos

 Mayor Susan Narvaiz proclaims October 2008 "National Breast Cancer Awareness Month," in sponsorship of a "Pink Ribbon Campaign" to promote breast cancer awareness, screening, and prevention in San Marcos. All women over 40 are encouraged to have an annual mammogram and all employers are asked to help increase breast cancer awareness and screening for their employees. Community Action Agency, Central Texas Medical Center and Advanced Imaging will sponsor free mammograms for 100 uninsured women this fall.
